Rome
Beautiful Rome, built on 7 hills is actually one big open-air museum, you see something beautiful everywhere.
In the area between Piazza de Populo and Piazza Navona are many sights within walking distance of each other, such as the Trevi Fountain, the Spanish Steps and the Pantheon. Another convenient area to stay is Monti, near the Forum and the Colosseum.
On the west side of the Tiber, near Vatican City and the Castel Sant Angelo, is the Prati district with wide green boulevards and large squares. It is slightly less busy here than in the center and you get a more local atmosphere.
On the southwest side of the Tiber you have the old working-class district of Trastevere with old narrow cobblestone streets and where it is very nice in the evening with many restaurants and terraces.
Other good areas to stay are the residential area on the Aventino hill and the more southerly district of Ostiense, known for its street art and close to the beautiful Basilica of St Paul Outside the Walls.
